Commitment
Our commitment doesn’t change based on the employee you are dealing with, and the day you do it. So we put down in writing certain promises and policies that will guide our behavior on every project, every day.
Our workmanship will always be of the highest quality.
Our knowledge, skills, and experience permit us to offer a quality of work few can match. And our integrity should ensure that we provide nothing less.
Jobsite safety will never be compromised.
Safety is equal parts knowledge and diligence. Obviously no one wants anyone to get hurt. A serious accident is obviously a tragedy in its own right. And it will certainly call into question the knowledgeable image we project for our company and its people. We will always strive to be both smart and careful; nothing is more important than safety.
We don’t guess. We know.
As a knowledge-based company, we pride ourselves on having the understanding and experience to make the right decisions at every stage of a project. This guides our individual decisions, as well. We won’t “play the percentages” or making “best case” estimates; we will take the extra time and effort to make a better-informed decision.
We will respond promptly to inquiries.
Knowledge doesn’t always mean instant answers. Often, we will need to investigate a situation to get the right information. But we will respond promptly to the client either way, to let the other party know we are giving their question top priority, and will provide the answer as soon as possible. A client should never be “left hanging.”
We demonstrate professionalism at all times.
A cluttered, disorganized jobsite and unkempt employees are indicative of a company that is not sure what it is doing. That is certainly not our company. We ensure that our jobsites and the professionals on them are neat, clean, and presentable.
The one who fields an issue or problem will take ownership of it.
If you have a question or an issue that needs attention, the person you ask won’t simply pass you off to another employee and forget about it. He or she will follow through and make sure that the issue has been properly resolved.
We will not speak poorly of others involved with the project—either internally or with third parties.
It is only human to have opinions. But denigrating others in any way can affect job-site performance and atmosphere. We won’t be a party to that.
We will treat everyone with respect and dignity.
This is not negotiable. It doesn’t matter how we are treated. Treating people with respect and dignity may or may not ensure that they respond in kind. But it’s the right thing to do.
We strive to be cooperative and personable.
Seems obvious, but it’s often ignored. A good, friendly attitude makes the job more pleasant for everyone. And it’s easier to do good work in that environment.
We will be on time.
Time isn’t just money, it’s more than that. Our timely arrival signifies that we take your project and the people involved in it seriously.
We won’t cut corners.
Whatever the short-term gain, it won’t make up for the long-term risk and potential consequences. A truly knowledgeable company looks for long-term results, and doesn’t take shortcuts for a quick payback. If the planning is correct—and we will be sure that it is—the only right thing to do is to follow it.
Note: We have established additional guidelines specifically for our relationships with clients, construction companies, architects and engineers, and joint venture partners. We’d be happy to share them with you.
